1. Who we are
Two Gang Electrical carries out domestic, commercial and industrial electrical and data work across Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding Dorset area. We are the controller of the personal information described here, which means we decide what is collected and why.
Two Gang Electrical is a trading name of Stephen Roberts. Address for correspondence: 10 Deepdene Ln, Bournemouth BH11 9RN. NAPIT registration number: 61061.
Contact us about anything on this page by email at info@twogangelectrical.co.uk or by phone on 07714 039124.
We do not operate CCTV at our own premises, and there is no camera or tracker fitted in our vans. Where we install a CCTV system for a customer, that system is theirs and they decide what it records and who sees it. Section 5 explains what that means during the installation.
2. What we collect, and why
| What | Why we need it | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address and phone number, from the enquiry form, an email, a phone call, a text or a Facebook message | To reply to you and to arrange a visit or a quote | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| What you tell us about the job: the property, the fault, what you want doing and anything else in your message | To price the work properly and turn up with the right parts | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| The address, access arrangements and parking, once work is booked | To get to the right place, get the van and the materials in, and isolate the supply safely | Performance of our contract with you |
| Details about the installation itself: the consumer unit, circuits, test results and anything we find that is not right | To do the work safely and to produce the certificate the regulations require | Performance of our contract, and our legal obligation to certify and notify |
| If you are a landlord or an agent, the tenant's name and contact details | To arrange access for a safety check or an inspection | Our legitimate interest in being let into the property. If you pass us a tenant's details, please pass this notice on too |
| Payment records and invoices | To take payment and keep the accounts | Legal obligation, and our contract with you |
| Photographs of finished work | To show what we do, on this site and on Facebook | Our legitimate interest in showing our work. We ask first, and the photographs never identify a property or an address |
We do not ask for special category data such as health information, and there is no reason to send it to us. Please do not include it in an enquiry. If access to a property needs to be arranged around a medical need or a disability, tell us only what we need in order to make the arrangement, and we will use it for nothing else.
3. The enquiry form on this site
When you submit the form on our contact page, the details go straight to our email inbox. They are not stored on this website, there is no customer database behind it, and nothing is used to build a profile of you or to advertise to you.
The form is sent securely and passes through a mail delivery service on the way to our inbox. Section 7 names it. Your details are sent in the body of the request and never in the web address, so they do not appear in any log of the pages you visited.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not turn into work: 12 months, then deleted.
- Customer records, including quotes, invoices and job notes: 7 years after the work is finished. That covers the accounting rules and the period in which a claim about the work could still be brought.
- Electrical certificates, inspection reports and test results: kept for the life of the installation, or until a later report supersedes them. These are the safety record for a property and they are the reason someone can find out, years later, what was done and what state it was in. Section 7 covers who else holds a copy.
- Accounting records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, which is fixed by law.
- Photographs of work: until we stop using them, unless you ask us to take them down sooner.
5. Working on your electrics, your cameras and your network
Some of our work puts us close to systems that hold information about you, so it is worth being plain about it.
- CCTV we install for you. The system is yours. You decide what it covers, how long it records for and who can view it, and you are responsible for it under data protection law once it is running. We need access while we install, commission and test it, which means we may briefly see footage. We do not copy it, we do not keep it, and we hand you the administrator login when we finish.
- We do not keep a login to your system afterwards. If you ever ask us to keep access so we can support the system remotely, we will agree that with you in writing first.
- Data and networking work. Installing cabling, points and cabinets does not give us access to what travels over the network, and we do not ask for your passwords.
- What we find in the fabric of a building. Fault-finding sometimes means lifting boards and going into lofts, cupboards and cabinets. We are there for the wiring.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to anyone for marketing. We share them only where the work requires it:
- NAPIT and your local building control, where the work has to be notified under Part P of the Building Regulations. That means the property address and what was done, so that a building regulations compliance certificate can be issued to you. This is a legal requirement, not a choice, and it is what makes your paperwork stand up when you sell.
- Electrical wholesalers and suppliers, where materials have to be delivered to your address. They get the delivery details, not your enquiry.
- Another electrician or a labourer, where we bring someone in to help on a bigger job. They get the address and the access arrangement, nothing else.
- Your landlord or your agent, if they instructed the work, or your tenant if you did. They get what they need to arrange access and to receive the report.
- Our accountant, for invoices and the annual accounts.
- The service providers in section 7, who handle the email and the website on our behalf and act only on our instructions.
- Anyone we are legally required to give it to, such as HMRC, or a fire service or building control investigating an incident.
7. The services that handle it for us
| Who | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Sandbanks Digital | Build and run this website and the enquiry form. They can see enquiries in transit while supporting the site | United Kingdom |
| Resend | Delivers the enquiry form to our inbox as an email | United States, under contract terms requiring UK-standard protection |
| Railway | Hosts the website. Its servers keep short-lived technical logs of requests, including IP addresses | United States and Europe, under contract terms requiring UK-standard protection |
| Microsoft | Hosts our email inbox, which is where enquiries land and where most correspondence with customers sits | United Kingdom and the European Union, with support outside it, under contract terms requiring UK-standard protection |
| NAPIT | Our registration body. Notified electrical work is registered with them, and they issue the building regulations compliance certificate | United Kingdom |
| Meta | Runs Facebook, where some people message us. Anything you send us there is also held by Meta under their own terms | United States, under their own transfer arrangements |
8. Information handled outside the UK
Some of the services above are based in the United States. Our contract with each of them requires that your information is protected to the standard UK law expects, wherever it is handled. If you would like to know how that works for a particular one, ask us at info@twogangelectrical.co.uk and we will tell you.
Facebook is the exception worth naming separately. If you message us there, Meta holds that conversation under its own privacy policy as well as ours, and we have no control over that side of it. If you would rather not, call, email or use the form instead.
9. Marketing
We do not send marketing emails, newsletters or texts, and we do not add enquirers to any list. If that ever changes we will ask you to opt in first, and every message would carry a way to stop them.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct anything wrong.
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it. Certificates and accounting records are the usual exception, because the law and the safety of the installation both depend on them.
- Restrict or object to what we do with it, including anything we do on the basis of our legitimate interests, such as using a photograph.
- Receive it in a portable form, where that applies.
Email info@twogangelectrical.co.uk or call 07714 039124. You do not have to use any particular words or mention any law: a request is a request however it arrives. It is free in the ordinary case, and we will answer within one month.
Three things it is fairer to say now than to spring on you later. We may need to confirm who you are before we hand anything over, which protects your information rather than obstructs you. If a request is particularly complex, or if you make several, the law allows us up to two further months, and we will tell you within the first month if that is going to happen and why. And if a request is clearly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee for the work or decline it, in which case we will explain the reason and tell you how to complain about that decision.
If you are asking on someone else's behalf we will need to be satisfied you are entitled to.
11. If you are unhappy
Come to us first. Since 19 June 2026 a data protection complaint has to be raised with the business before the regulator will take it, and we have 30 days to respond. Email info@twogangelectrical.co.uk or call 07714 039124 and tell us what has gone wrong.
If we cannot put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. Complaining to us first does not take away your right to go to them.
12. Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them. We work in family homes, so children are often about while we are there; we are not recording anything about them.
13. Keeping it safe
The website is served over an encrypted connection, the enquiry form is rate limited to stop automated abuse, and access to the inbox is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and if something goes wrong that puts your information at real risk we will tell you and, where the law requires it, the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours.
14. Changes to this notice
If what we do with your information changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This notice was last updated on 21 August 2026.
