1. There are no cookies
This website sets no cookies. It also uses none of the other ways a site can store things on your device: no local storage, no session storage, no device fingerprinting and no tracking pixels. The rules here are about storage on your device rather than about the word "cookie", so it is worth saying all of it rather than only the first part.
That is why there is no cookie banner. A banner is required where a site stores something it needs your permission for. Putting one up anyway would imply we are tracking you, and would train you to click through a box that means nothing.
Nothing on these pages is loaded from anyone else's server. The fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, the photographs are ours, and there is no map, no video, no chat widget and no social feed embedded anywhere. So no third party learns you visited.
2. How we count visitors
We use a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics tool called Umami to see how many people visit and which pages are read. It does not use cookies, it does not store anything on your device, and it does not follow you to other websites. It records the page, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and the type of device, all as a count rather than as a record about you. It does not store your IP address and there is nothing in it that identifies you.
Under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 this kind of aggregate statistical measurement, used only to improve the service, does not need your consent. We would tell you about it either way.
If analytics is not switched on for this site, nothing at all is loaded, and you can check that yourself: view the page source and look for a script from an analytics address.
3. Server logs
Like every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps a short-lived technical log of requests, which includes IP addresses. These are not cookies, and they are not used to profile anybody. They exist so that faults and abuse can be diagnosed, and they are held by our hosting provider for a short period and then discarded.
When you send the enquiry form, your IP address is used for a few minutes to stop the same address submitting the form over and over. It is not stored alongside your enquiry.
4. The enquiry form
Submitting the form on the contact page sends your details to our inbox and stores nothing on your device. It does not remember what you typed, and it does not set anything to recognise you next time. Our privacy notice explains what happens to the details themselves.
5. The private preview site
Before this website went live it was reviewed on a private preview address, which is password protected and does set one cookie, purely to remember that the password has been entered. That address is not this one, it is not public, and it has nothing to do with your visit here. It is mentioned only because saying "there are no cookies" should be true without an unstated exception behind it.
6. Links to other sites
A few links go elsewhere: our Google business profile, our Facebook page and our Checkatrade profile. Those sites set their own cookies once you arrive, and their policies apply, not this one. Nothing loads from them until you choose to click.
7. Controlling storage yourself
There is nothing here to opt out of, but every browser lets you block and delete cookies and site data, and send a "do not track" signal. If you would rather not use the website at all, call 07714 039124 or email info@twogangelectrical.co.uk, and nothing is stored on your device by doing so.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever add anything that stores something on your device, this page changes before it goes on the site, not afterwards, and anything needing your permission will ask for it first. This policy was last updated on 21 August 2026.
